First moves that fix most things
Try these before anything else. They resolve a good share of reports.
- Power-cycle the display. Unplug it for about ten seconds, then plug it back in. This also lets it pull any waiting software update.
- Update the TheFlightWall app. Several problems people report have already been fixed in a later release.
- Confirm you saved. Changes reach the display only after you select Save in the device header. Map edits and filter changes are the common ones to miss.
- Use the supplied power adapter. A weak USB charger makes a display reboot part way through startup.
Reporting a problem
Report from inside the app, or email contact@theflightwall.com.
Include as much of this as you can. It is what shortens the reply.
- Device ID. The six-character code shown at startup, or in the app under System, in Device Information.
- App version and phone model.
- Firmware version, from the same Device Information section.
- A photo of the display showing the problem, or a short video if it comes and goes.
- A screenshot of any error the app shows.
- Example flight numbers, when the problem is about which aircraft appear or what their details say.
- Your network type, when the problem is about connecting.
For a problem that comes and goes, note whether it happened once or keeps returning. That difference changes how support investigates it.
