Connect a calendar app
Find the calendar link or export file in crew scheduling, travel, and calendar apps, and add it to Plus Sync.
Most crew scheduling and travel apps can share your schedule in iCalendar
format, either as a live calendar link or as an .ics file. Plus Sync accepts
both. This page shows where to find each one in common apps and which Plus
import method to use.
Plus never signs in to a crew portal or airline system on your behalf. It only reads the link or file that you export yourself.
Choose a link or a file
| Calendar URL | Calendar file | |
|---|---|---|
| Plus import method | Calendar URL | File upload |
| Updates | Plus re-checks the link automatically | One-time; upload a new file when the schedule changes |
| Format | https:// or webcal:// link, up to 2,048 characters | .ics, .ical, .ifb, or .icalendar, up to 2 MB |
| Limit | One live connection per account | No limit |
Use a calendar URL whenever the app offers one. Use a file when the app can only export. If the app already writes your schedule into Google Calendar, connect Google Calendar instead.
Before you add a source:
- Plus reads airline, flight number, airports, and times from each event's title, description, and location. Events that do not describe a flight are listed as excluded or appear in Review with missing information.
- Plus skips events that ended more than six hours ago, so exporting past months adds nothing.
- Treat a calendar link like a password. Anyone who has it can read the calendar. If a link is exposed, reset it in the source app, then disconnect it in Plus and subscribe with the new link.
Add a link or file to Plus
- Open Import on the Plus Sync screen in the TheFlightWall app or at plus.theflightwall.com.
- For a link, select Calendar URL and paste it. For a file, select File Upload in the app or File upload on the website, and choose it.
- Optionally choose a Default airline. Plus uses it when an event lists a flight number without an airline code.
- Optionally enter a Source name, such as
MiCreworJune FLICA export. - For a link, select Subscribe and import in the app or Subscribe to calendar on the website. For a file, select Import calendar file in the app or Import calendar on the website.
- Keep the app or page open until Plus opens Review.
See Import a schedule for the full import options and Review flights for what to check next.
Crew scheduling apps
Delta MiCrew
MiCrew can create a Webcal ICS link for your schedule.
- In MiCrew, open Menu → Settings → Calendar.
- Set up Auto-Sync.
- Choose Option 2, which creates a Webcal ICS link for a calendar on another device.
- Copy the link and add it to Plus as a Calendar URL.
The link reflects your schedule as of MiCrew's last sync. After a schedule change, open MiCrew so it syncs the update before Plus next checks the link.
RosterBuster
RosterBuster imports rosters from many airline crew systems and can publish them as a webcal link.
- Sign in to RosterBuster on the web.
- Open Settings, then select Calendar under Export.
- Select Enable webcal link.
- Copy the link and add it to Plus as a Calendar URL.
If you use RosterBuster's Google Calendar integration, you can connect that Google calendar to Plus instead.
To export a one-time file, open Events in RosterBuster, choose the date range, select Apply, then Export → ICS. Upload the downloaded file to Plus.
FLICA
FLICA does not provide a live calendar link. It exports the month you are viewing as an iCalendar file.
- Sign in to your airline's FLICA site in a web browser.
- Open the month you want to import.
- Use FLICA's schedule export to download that month as an
.icsfile. - Upload the file to Plus with File upload.
Export and upload the current month, then repeat for the next month once it is published.
Travel apps
TripIt
TripIt publishes your trips as a calendar feed.
- On the TripIt website, select the profile icon, then Settings → Calendar Feed.
- Turn on the calendar feed and turn on Display individual plans within a trip so each flight appears as its own event.
- Copy the calendar feed URL and add it to Plus as a Calendar URL.
In the TripIt app, the same settings are under Account → Settings → Calendar Sync, where the individual-plans setting is named Include Detailed Items. TripIt only includes trips on which you are listed as a traveler.
Flighty
Flighty does not publish a calendar link. Its Calendar Export setting adds an event for each flight to your calendar and keeps it updated when times change.
- Turn on Calendar Export in Flighty.
- Note which calendar receives the flight events.
- Connect that calendar to Plus:
- For a Google calendar, connect Google Calendar and select it.
- For an iCloud calendar, create a public link as described in Apple iCloud Calendar.
Calendar services
Use these steps when your schedule already lives in a personal calendar, for example because a crew app syncs into it.
Google Calendar
Select Google on the Plus Import page and choose Connect Google Calendar. Plus requests read-only access and lets you pick the calendar that holds your schedule.
To use a calendar link instead:
- Open Google Calendar on a computer and select Settings.
- Under Settings for my calendars, select the calendar.
- Select Integrate calendar.
- Copy Secret address in iCal format and add it to Plus as a Calendar URL.
Work and school accounts may hide the secret address if an administrator has restricted sharing.
Apple iCloud Calendar
Plus cannot sign in to iCloud. Share the calendar publicly and use its link.
- On a computer or tablet, go to icloud.com/calendar.
- Select the share button beside the calendar in the sidebar.
- Turn on Public Calendar and select Copy.
- Add the link to Plus as a Calendar URL.
A public calendar can be viewed by anyone who has the link. Share a calendar that contains only your work schedule.
Outlook
- In Outlook.com or Outlook on the web, open Settings → Calendar → Shared calendars.
- Under Publish a calendar, choose the calendar and the level of detail that shows full event details.
- Select Publish.
- Copy the ICS link and add it to Plus as a Calendar URL.
Publish a level that includes event details. A calendar that only shows free and busy times gives Plus no flight information. If Publish a calendar is missing on a work or school account, your administrator has disabled publishing.
If your app has no link or export
- Check whether a roster aggregator such as RosterBuster supports your airline, then use its link.
- Add flights manually with Quick add or Day builder.
Plus cannot use links that require a username and password, such as CalDAV calendar accounts.
Keep the schedule current
A calendar URL keeps updating Plus with new, changed, and canceled events until you disconnect it. When a flight's airline, number, airports, times, or type change, Plus asks you to review it again unless automatic approval is on.
Each file upload is imported separately. Uploading a newer copy of the same schedule does not update or remove flights from the earlier file, and flights that appear in both files are listed twice. After uploading a newer copy, delete the outdated and duplicate flights. The same applies when you move from file uploads to a calendar URL.
