How the display shows Plus

Enable Plus Sync for a linked FlightWall, choose what it shows, and control which schedule legs and messages it receives.

A linked FlightWall shows your Plus schedule while Plus Sync is enabled for that display. Linking a display and enabling schedule sync are separate settings, although approving a link turns Plus Sync on.

Enable Plus Sync

  1. Open the linked display in the TheFlightWall app.
  2. Select Flight Tracking.
  3. On the Plus Sync card, turn on the switch.
  4. Save the display configuration if prompted.

Linking a display, in the app or on the website, turns the switch on for you.

The Plus Sync card shows an Active or Upcoming schedule leg when one is available. Select the featured leg to open its day in Schedule.

While Plus Sync is enabled, the display's other settings pages show Now showing: Plus Sync with Your Plus schedule is driving this display. Select the banner to open the Plus Sync screen. The manual flight-number controls under Flight Tracking are unavailable.

Turn off Plus Sync

Turn off the switch on the Plus Sync card. The display stops showing the Plus schedule, but the account, imported flights, subscription, and device link remain in place.

You can then use Area Tracking or manually tracked flight numbers on the display. Turn Plus Sync on again to resume the schedule.

Unlinking the display on the website also turns Plus Sync off for it.

If the app does not show the Plus Sync card yet, Flight Tracking shows This display is following a synced schedule, so the flight settings below are paused. Select Stop using the synced schedule to turn Plus Sync off.

Choose what the display shows

In the app, open the Plus Sync screen and select Display. On plus.theflightwall.com, open Display and select an active display. Each option shows a preview rendered for that display model.

  • Main view sets what fills the display while one of your flight legs is active:
    • Active flight shows the flight, your route, and live progress.
    • Custom message shows your message in large text with the flight small beneath it. It requires a saved message that is switched on.
  • Upcoming trips adds a screen of what is next when no leg is active:
    • Next trip shows one trip at a time with departure and arrival countdowns.
    • Trip list shows up to five upcoming trips, one row each.

Turn off Upcoming trips to show only your other display settings when no leg is active. Changes are not sent until you select Save display settings. On the website, the display updates within a minute.

The app's Display tab also shows your custom message at the top, with a button to add or edit it.

A display that is still awaiting approval or not finished linking cannot be configured.

Choose which legs can appear

Flights you enter manually appear only after they are complete and approved. Check imported flights in Review so the display shows the correct airline, flight number, airports, and times.

In the app, open a leg and use Show on device to keep that flight in your schedule while hiding or showing it on linked displays. A later calendar refresh can turn it back on.

Deleting a leg removes it from the schedule entirely. Disconnecting a live calendar removes every flight imported from that calendar.

Show a custom message

Plus stores one custom message for your account. When it is switched on, it appears while you are on a flight leg, and the Custom message main view shows it in large text. See Set a custom message.

If the schedule is not showing

If the schedule is correct in Plus but the wall is not showing it, check that:

  • The device link is Active
  • The Plus Sync switch is on
  • The subscription is active
  • The leg is set to show on the device
  • Manually entered legs are complete and approved
  • The display is not currently inside its configured sleep schedule
