Link a FlightWall
Link a FlightWall to your Plus account from the app or the website so it can receive your schedule.
You can link up to three FlightWall displays to one Plus account. A display must already be paired with the TheFlightWall app. You can link a display directly in the app, or request the link on the website and approve it in the app.
Link a display in the app
- Open the paired display and select Flight Tracking.
- On the Plus Sync card, sign in and subscribe if prompted.
- Import a schedule if the card shows Start Schedule Setup.
- When the card shows This display is not linked to your Plus account yet, select Link This Display.
The app links the display, turns on Plus Sync for it, and the card starts showing your schedule. No approval step is needed, because you are already using the paired display.
If the display belongs to a different Plus account, the card shows This display is already linked to another Plus account. Unlink it from that account first.
Find the Device ID
The website needs the display's Device ID.
- Open the app.
- Select the display from the home screen.
- Select System from the display settings selector.
- Copy the value under Device ID.
The Device ID identifies the physical display. It is 4 to 64 characters long
and contains only letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores. It is not the
display name or the Flightwall-<ID> Wi-Fi network used during setup.
Request the link on the website
- Sign in at plus.theflightwall.com.
- Select Devices.
- Select Add a new device.
- Enter the Device ID and select Link device.
What happens next depends on your account:
- Device added. Approve the link from the FlightWall app on the device. The device appears as Awaiting approval. Approve it in the app as described below.
- Device linked. Your schedule will appear on it within a few minutes. The website finished the link, turned on Plus Sync for the display, and shows it as Active. No approval in the app is needed.
A pending or unfinished link counts toward the three-device limit.
Approve a website request in the app
While the app is open, it checks for link requests from the website on any screen and checks again when it returns to the foreground.
- When Link this device to Plus? appears, check the device name.
- Select Approve link.
The app turns on Plus Sync for the display and shows Welcome to Plus!. Select Set up my schedule to open that display's Import tab, or Maybe later. The Devices page on the website updates the link status to Active automatically.
Select Deny if you do not recognize the request. The request is removed and Plus Sync remains disabled. Select Not now to decide later.
If the app shows We can't reach Plus right now, the request stays pending and appears again when you are online.
If the approval request does not appear
- Confirm that the Device ID on the website matches the value under System in the app.
- Keep the app open, or return it to the foreground to trigger another check.
- On the website, verify that the device still shows Awaiting approval.
- Confirm that the display is paired with the app on this phone.
If a link shows Not finished
Not finished means the website saved the link but could not turn on Plus Sync for the display. Make sure the display is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi, then select Retry beside it on the Devices page.
Unlink a display
On plus.theflightwall.com, open Devices and select Unlink beside the display. Unlinking takes effect immediately, turns off Plus Sync for the display, and stops it from receiving your Plus schedule. The app does not provide an unlink control.
To use that display again, link it again from the app or the website.
Link errors on the website
- This device is already linked to your account: The display already has an active link.
- This device is already pending approval: Approve the existing request in the app instead of adding it again.
- This device is already linked to another account: Unlink the display from the other Plus account before trying again.
- We could not find a display with that ID: Check the Device ID under System in the app and try again.
- This display has not checked in yet: Power on the display, connect it to Wi-Fi, and try again once it is online.
- Failed to link device: Check whether the account already has three active or pending links, then verify the Device ID and retry.
